FAQs
How many nights a week and for how long do clients normally book newborn night care?
Every family has a different budget and unique goals. In general, most babies are sleeping longer stretches at night by 12 weeks of age, therefore, clients find the most benefit with at least 3 nights a week coverage for the first 8-12 weeks. With that being said, we are flexible and even 1 night a week of solid sleep can make a huge difference in how you recover postpartum.
*Please note- Due to provider availability, in order to accommodate >2 nights a week coverage you will most likely have multiple providers placed on your assignment.
What type of experience do your nurses have?
When it comes to your newborn, experience and skills matter. We pride ourselves on being the only Registered Nurse run and operated postpartum service team in the Columbia area. The registered nurses I work with have attended an accredited nursing school and they hold an active nursing license in the State of South Carolina. They all have experience in either Labor and Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and or NICU. I do my best to pair each family with the care providers who best match their desires and needs.
How does this work if I am breastfeeding?
We are very supportive of breastfeeding and lactation. We can work with you in order to set up a pumping schedule that is efficient and safe in order to protect your milk supply while you have night support. If you want to exclusively breastfeed- your care provider will bring your baby to you when she is showing feeding cues and settle her once you are done with the breastfeeding session.
